The Strange Case of Pinkie Pie: Chapter 2

“Loser leaves Ponyville FOREVER?!” Rarity was horrified.

“But... Pinkie Pie...” Said Fluttershy with fear.

“Pinkie! Ya’ll can’t leave Ponyville!” Said Applejack.

“Applejack’s right!” Said Rainbow Dash. “If you leave, the entire town’s gonna get depressed and grey! You’re the life of the town!” But Pinkie looked strangely confident.

“Don’t worry, guys,” She said. “I know something that Trixie doesn’t!”
“What would that be, dear?” Rarity, along with everyone else, grew curious. Trixie’s booming voice echoed from up on the stage where the contest was being held.

“Get up here, Pinkie!” She shouted. “Unless you wanna back down now!”

“You only wish, Trixie!” Pinkie said, trotting up to the stage. The crowd was very large, and the judge was a green pegasus.

“Now,” The judge said. “Both cupcakes must be blueberry in order to taste the difference. Best tasting cupcake wins. Go!”
Trixie was done in a matter of seconds. She used the Alicorn Amulet to make the required blueberry cupcake. But Pinkie Pie took her time. This made Trixie impatient.

“What’s taking you so long?!” She hissed. But Pinkie ignored her. Eventually the blueberry cupcake came out of the oven.
“Done!” Pinkie said with her normal cheeriness. The judge came over to the table and tried Trixie’s cupcake first. As the judge took a bite, she looked like she was about to vomit. She spat the cupcake out and nearly retched. Trixie gasped, along with most of the crowd. She was shocked! Why wasn’t her cupcake any good?

“Here,” Pinkie Pie held her fresh cupcake up. “Try mine, maybe you’ll feel better.” Trixie swore under her breath. The judge shook the sickness off of her face and bit into Pinkie’s cupcake. The judge raised her eyebrows and said four words that made Trixie absolutely furious:

“Pinkie wins the contest!”

“Sorry, Trixie,” Pinkie said, smiling. “But it looks like you need to leave Ponyville.” Trixie’s jaw dropped, and then turned red with rage.

“Fine!” She snapped. “I might have lost this competition, but I will be back!” And she furiously trotted away. Everypony in the crowd cheered for Pinkie.

“You did it, Pinkie Pie!” Pinkie’s friends all embraced her into a hug. They all cheered for her and brought her back to the sweets shop. Trixie watched this from afar and fumed, but an idea popped into her head...

“Maybe I should apologize...” She sneered. “And give her a special cupcake...”
